Dumbo Arts Festival

Yesterday stated as the sort of day where I had little motivation and too many things to do to tie down a plan for the day. Yet I ended up heading over the the Dumbo Arts Festival and got to explore the great neighborhood, see some studios and listen to some street music.

Dad’s Yummies &

I feel productive. I can hardly get online and it is impossible to watch hulu. I have a new world of time to research, explore and learn. Currently I am going learn piano, get to know some basic bike repair, and finish an art project. So I am revisiting my Brooklyn project from last year. My plan is to get it off the computer and get it up somewhere, probably some cafes to start?

Jewelry is going okay, I feel that I work on it a lot and its becoming fruitless. Promotion will probably start this week. I finished making new earrings for it as well as photographed them and just need to finish editing them. I am working long days over this next week so I will do it in the morning most likely.

I’ve determined that any money I make from the jewelry will go toward a new camera. Next year I plan on starting my pre-grad school photographs, basically the ones I hope will help me get into a good school, and my equipment is outdated. The funds will stay in a jar, I will make this jar soon… when I actually have something to put in it.

Below is a pictures of my dads no bake cookies that I made for my new roommates move-in and birthday. No recipe, full of dairy, but my roommates love dairy so I couldn’t jip them.

I saw this in bushwick and just had to capture it! I realized that I have yet to really explore and photograph this part of Brooklyn so I hope to get up there soon 🙂

That Old Brooklyn Project

Well I decided to do something with my day and finish the graphics for the Brooklyn Project. I am unsure if these are actually the final graphics, I updated one completely today and may changed the images in the Flatbush image as well. But here are the seven almost final images for the project (only five walks, the sixth will never happen because I am not in the proper mind set for this project any longer). By next week I hope to have the video explaining the purpose and conclusions of this project.

The first image in the “center” image and is geographically accurate. The last is just a pile of the images centered. (The image I may change is the second to last graphic)

Work!

So since the last post I have been doing very well. I have been creating some work. Including some really nice photos from Coney Island that follow.

I am also reading 1984. A classic that I have never read before and the longing the characters have for something more really strikes me in a wonderful way. I dream about bigger and better futures constantly, especially when it comes to my career and life goals.

Fifth Brooklyn Walk

Although it has taken some time I have finally managed to complete my Fifth Brooklyn Walk (I have the original plan to do six walks). It has been almost a month between this and the previous four walks. My attitude and goal for this walk was very different (I’m going to expand on this in my texts and videos later on). This is one of my favorite images from the walk.

4 Walks

At the end of today I will have completed four walks. My current overall mission with this project is to produce a minamum of six unique walks and 7 graphic reproductions (the six walks individually and a combined image of all).

At my average of one walk a week I feel this minimum goal will be finished over the next two weeks. I am now going to look into places I can better display these works (in print).
